This was just a 4 page newsletter. It wasn't due to lack of activity. A new single release was announced along with a
series of dates at Bailey's night club. That was a very popular night club in the UK at the time. In fact, I performed there
myself. It doesn't seem to exist anymore.
'Kid Runaway' was a very good record that turned out to be the last Polydor
single in the UK. If only that had been released as a follow up to the Top 10 hit 'Baby I Know' a couple of years before...
it could all have been very different for the band.
I did my best to enhance the picture of the 71 year old French
fan. If she's still alive Miss Dubois will have reached a century. I do hope so.
John's contribution was a handwritten
poem which was difficult to read then, and no easier now. Next time I see him I'll ask him the title which I've been unable
to decipher.
One of my favourite tracks from the later recordings. Bob Benham & Alan Williams provided some tremendous acoustic guitar.
During a tour of the UK in 1999, I went to see the band play at the London Palladium. I was surprised... and delighted that
they chose to play 'Kid Runaway' on that occasion.
