Another 1 page issue, this time for a very different reason. The fan club had just about reached the end of the road.
That co-incided with the end of the band's agreement with their management company Gale, along with the end of the
Polydor recording deal. There were a bunch of un-released tracks that were eventually released in the 90's under the title
'Shangri La'. ( 'Shangri La' was actually one of the songs recorded by John & Alan as part of their duo project Richards
'n' Williams. )
The boys remained very upbeat with 'lots of things in the pipeline'. Time has proved they had every reason to be. 30
years later, Alan, John & Mick are still performing live to huge crowds across Europe and have completed numerous successful
UK tours. The 'Best Of the Rubettes' CD collection went Top 10 in France, qualifying for a Gold Disc award.
